About Newp Games
Newp Games is an independent game studio run by Nathan Partch in the United States. It makes free games you can play in your web browser today: Locks & Loot (a puzzle heist), Brickbit (a pixel block puzzle about combos) and Robo Stand (a robot horde shooter and base builder). iPhone and Android apps are on the way.
Who's behind it?
Just me, Nathan Partch. I design, code, draw, test and support every game myself, from the lock puzzles in Locks & Loot to the chiptune music in Brickbit and the 3D robots in Robo Stand. When you email help@newpgames.com, I'm the one who reads it.
What kind of games do I make?
Ones you can figure out in a few seconds and still want to come back to: short runs, clear goals, and the feeling that you got a bit further than last time. I build for phones first, but everything runs in a normal browser, so there's nothing to install just to try one.
How I run things
- The games are free. If something is for sale, it's optional, and you never need it to win.
- No energy bars. You can always play. I'm not going to stop you because a meter ran out.
- No forced ads. The browser games have no ads at all. If an app has one, it's an optional ad you tap for a reward.
- No accounts. I don't ask for your name or email. The privacy page spells out exactly what each game stores.
- Feedback counts. A lot of what's in the games came from player emails.
Why a newt?
I just like newts. The orange one sitting on the logo is the Newp Games mascot, and you'll see that orange all over the site.
